I'm back from Chiang Mai/Chiang Rai..5 wonderful days of my 2 month holiday. One of the best vacation I have ever had. I'll just briefly describe the trip and forgive me for not giving the names of the places I went to bcoz' most of it are in Thai language..and I have no idea what they mean..=.=.

1st day:

1) A spacious garden built in conjunction with the King's 60th birthday. (he's now 80+)

2) A temple on top of 1 of the mountains in Chiang Mai. Btw, the weather in Chiang Mai in so cooling and sometimes very cold.

3) Meo Tribe Village (on top of 1 of the mountains too). Lots of beautiful flowers along the way and on the mountains.

4) Royal dinner at some restaurant.

This is the one and only suckish meal in our 5 day trip. Totally unedible. The tour guide said the main thing of the dinner is the performances as the kings old days love to see the beautiful ladies preform. We even had to sit on the floor to have the dinner. Worst meal ever. I rather eat Maggi Mee. lol.

2nd day: Chiang Rai

1) Hot Spring on the way to Chiang Rai. The sign there writes "Hot SPING".lol.

2) Lunch beside the Mae Khong River (more known as Sungai Mekong by fellow M'sians)

This is not a real flower. It's a sculpture of a flower from a soap. Pro people.

3) River cruise at the Golden Triangle.

This is where 2 rivers join to form the Mae Khong River. There's a dataran mendap shaped like a triangle in the middle. The river seperates 3 countries, Thailand, Myanmar and Laos. We went to Laos through boat.

4) Temple near Mae Sai. (Mae Sai is the border if Thailand and Myanmar.) 5) Market at Mae Sai and dinner.

3rd day: Chiang Rai-Chiang Mai.

1) Doitung Royal Villa.

Place where the Maharani of Thailand used to live. On top of a mountain. So cold that we shivered. The scenery is awesome and breath-taking. They maintained it really well though no one's living there anymore. I took too many pics in this place but I'll put up one only.

2) Mae Fah Luang Garden.

Just below the Doi Tung Royal Villa. Just one word to describe. AMAZING.

3) Karen Tribe Village a.k.a Long Neck Tribe.

4) White Temple.

The whole temple's white with pieces of mirrors pasted onto the structures which makes it so shiny. Only the toilet's golden in colour. Still under construction after 11 years. The owner's an artist so he's really picky with the design and all so I bet it won't be finished even in another 10 more years.lol.

5) Dinner and pasar malam.

4th day:

1) Orchid Garden. Nice one.

2) Maesa Elephant Camp.

The elephant ride was amazing. They walked into the jungle and on specially made mud tracks that was really like an "extreme" sport. Saw the elephants' performances and saw how they drew.

3) Some local items shops (tu chan dian).

One of shops was the paper umbrella making shop. They draw pictures onto the umbrellas and also draw pics onto your clothes if you want.

4) Dinner beside a river. The atmosphere's really romantic.XD

5) Pasar malam.

5th day:

Went straight to the airport after breakfast and off back to M'sia.

Conclusion:

I really admire how the Thais maintain their country. Their landscape, their toilets!!! Their toilets are at least 10 times cleaner than our country's. Even the toilet in the tribe village is cleaner than any public toilet in M'sia. Imagine, it's on top of the mountain!!! However, the food there is just ok, not really special. We had Tom Yam Soup for every meal.lol. The weather's really nice and cooling that we hardly sweat. It did not rain at all throughout the trip. How lucky. A truly amazing experience.
